On Thursday, after 6 months of planning, I finally had a location shoot with Laura. The theme we chose was a blend of Autumn and Halloween in Nunnery Woods.
A few days before I completed an order of 11 smoke grenades and carved out ‘smokey’ the pumpkin. On the Wednesday, I created an Instagram story and had a message from a model (Lottii Rose) who I had been following for a while letting me know that she knew Laura. So of course, I invited her along (with Laura’s permission) to film behind the scenes for new content on my YouTube channel. Myself and Laura arrived at the venue and started taking portraits in open sections of the woods where the sun was shining through the trees and the leaves were in their autumnal colours. With Laura matching the brief perfectly wearing autumnal colours, the images came to life without the editing beginning. Before long, it was time to get the grenades out and we had lots of fun filling sections of the woods in coloured smoke. My favourite was with orange and black smoke coming from underneath a wooden bridge covering a ditch. The final set of photos we wanted were in amongst some dark green bushes with yellow leaves and the golden hour sunlight being used as the hair light. Whilst Laura was getting ready for the set, Lottii (the wonderful assistant) jumped in front of the lens to let me check the camera settings, we all know she loved the set and wanted a photo and I was not going to turn down the opportunity. Once we called wrap, the girls asked me to direct them back to the car. Little did they know I had no clue where we were and the direction to take, so eventually we got lost and the steps suddenly turned into miles! I am so thankful for all the hard work both girls put in to help achieve the final results. Please be sure to check the images out here. Until next the post, Chris
